Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore Albert Chua Hold the 11th China-Singapore Diplomatic Consultations
On February 11, 2025, Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore Albert Chua held the 11th China-Singapore diplomatic consultations in Beijing.
Sun Weidong said that under the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two countries, China-Singapore relations have been upgraded and entered a new stage of high-quality development. Noting that this year marks the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Singapore, Sun Weidong expressed the hope that the two sides will take this opportunity to follow through on the important common understandings reached between the leaders of the two countries, deepen practical cooperation, strengthen exchanges and mutual learning, and push for new progress in China-Singapore all-round high-quality future-oriented partnership.
Albert Chua said that Singapore is ready to take the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with China as an opportunity to further strengthen interactions at all levels, expand exchanges and cooperation in various fields and push bilateral relations to a new level. Singapore reiterated its firm commitment to the "one-China" policy and opposition to "Taiwan independence".
The two sides also had an exchange of views on international and regional issues of common interest and concern.
