On September 8 evening, Chinese Ambassador to Singapore Cao Zhongming and his wife Madam Yang Qing attended the "Sing! The Yellow River·The Butterfly Lovers" Symphonic Concert at the Esplanade Concert Hall. About 1,500 guests from various sectors, including Mr Eric Chua, the Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Law & Ministry of Social and Family Development of Singapore, Mr Heng Swee Keat, Former Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore, several Ambassadors and diplomatic envoys, some descendants of "Flying Tigers" enjoyed the concert.

In his speech, Ambassador Cao said that the concert featured joint performances of outstanding classic works such as "The Yellow River" "Butterfly Lovers" and "Sing!" by Chinese and Singaporean artists. It not only reflected enduring friendship between our two countries, but also resonated as a powerful anthem for peace and justice in our time, as we commemorate the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Singapore and the 80th anniversary of the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War. The Chinese people are committed to working side by side with the Singaporean people, to firmly stand on the right side of history and the progress of human civilization. We will remain committed to the path of peaceful development, and join hands with all peoples around the world in building a community with a shared future for humanity.

The concert, conducted by Mr Tsung Yeh, the Conductor Emeritus of Singapore Chinese Orchestra, presented brilliant performances of classic pieces from both countries by renowned Chinese pianist Kong Xiangdong and Singaporean violinist Kong Zhaohui, alongside the China National Symphony Orchestra. The audience welcomed the performances with great enthusiasm, offering prolonged and thunderous applause.
