the Special Exhibition“Tranquil Sounds of Forests and Valleys: Journeys through Mountains and Rivers in Ming and Qing Painting” Kicks Off
On the afternoon of October 31, the special exhibition “Tranquil Sounds of Forests and Valleys: Journeys through Mountains and Rivers in Ming and Qing Painting” kicked off at the China Cultural Centre in Singapore. Mr. Zhu Jing, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Chinese Embassy in Singapore, attended and delivered a speech. More than 200 guests from China and Singapore—including Ms. Chang Hwee Nee, Chief Executive Officer of the National Heritage Board of Singapore, Mr. Chan Heng Wing, Singapore’s Non-Resident Ambassador to Austria, and Ms. Chen Li, Deputy Director of the National Museum of China were present at the opening ceremony.

In his speech, Mr Zhu said that cultural and artistic exchanges between China and Singapore have flourished in recent years, yielding fruitful results. The exhibition, presented by the National Museum of China, represents the latest achievements in the digital preservation and artistic reproduction of cultural relics. It serves as a vivid example of how technology empowers cultural communication, and it will further promote mutual understanding and learning between the peoples of the two countries.

On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Singapore and the 10th anniversary of the China Cultural Centre in Singapore, the exhibition showcases high-definition reproductions and multimedia presentations of literati landscape paintings created between the 15th and 19th centuries. It invites visitors to experience an artistic journey that transcends time and space. The exhibition will run until January 18, 2026.
