Visa for Hong Kong SAR of China
1. Singapore citizen holding a Singapore passport may travel to HKSAR visa-free for a short visit or tourism and stay in HKSAR for up to 90 days.
2. For citizens of other countries, please visit the website of HKSAR Immigration Department at (http://www.info.gov.hk/immd/) to see whether visas are needed to go to HKSAR.
3. Foreign citizens should obtain visas before entering HKSAR if they intend to stay in HKSAR longer than the visa waiver period, or the purpose of visit is to work, take up residence, study or receive training in HKSAR.
4. How to apply for a HKSAR visa:
A. For those who are required a visa to HKSAR, the applicants can either apply the visa directly to the Immigration Department of HKSAR Government or apply the visa through the Chinese Visa Application Service Center in Singapore.
With effect from 17 January 2025, applicants of General Employment Policy, Admission Scheme for Mainland Talents and Professionals, Capital Investment Entrant Scheme, Training, Working Holiday Scheme, and Residence as Dependents must submit their applications for visa/entry permits and extensions of stay by electronic services.
B. Follow the guidelines for HKSAR Visa and prepare required supporting documents with your application.
C. Processing Time:
1) Visa issued within the authority of the Embassy, the processing time is 4 working days (normal), 3 working days (expedited) or 2 working days (express).
2) If the visa application needs to be forwarded to the Immigration Department of the HKSAR Government, the processing time is usually 4 weeks or longer.
D. Fees and payments:
1) If you apply directly to the Immigration Department of the HKSAR Government, you should pay the fees as required by the Immigration Department of the HKSAR Government.
2) If visa issued within the authority of the Embassy, visa fee is $50 SGD. If you need to expedite the processing, you will need to pay an additional $35 SGD expedited fee or $50 SGD urgent fee.
3) If your application needs to be referred to HKSAR Immigration Department for approval, you are required to pay a communication fee of $30 SGD to the Embassy prior to submission of your application, in addition to the visa fee ($50 SGD) which is charged once your visa is approved.
