On August 29, Chinese Ambassador to Singapore Cao Zhongming welcomed Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) Sam Hou Fai and the Macao delegation at the Chinese Embassy.

Ambassador Cao briefed Chief Executive Sam Hou Fai on China-Singapore relations and noted that this visit, the first by Chief Executive of the Macao SAR to Singapore in 15 years, is of great significance. It would further strengthen exchanges and cooperation between Macao and Singapore in various fields and give a fresh impetus to the development of China-Singapore relations. The Chinese Embassy in Singapore stands ready to provide active support to facilitate deeper cooperation between Macao and Singapore across the board, and support Macao in expanding external cooperation.

Chief Executive Sam Hou Fai shared the successful practice of One Country, Two Systems in Macao, and emphasized that Macao will continue to leverage its bridging role, build a high-standard platform for opening up, and serve China’s overall diplomacy. He also pointed out that Macao will deepen cooperation with Singapore in high-tech, tourism, education, traditional Chinese medicine and other areas, so as to further boost the growth of China-Singapore relations.
