On July 6, Chinese Ambassador to Singapore Cao Zhongming met with Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Singapore Christopher de Souza to exchange views on topics including exchanges between Chinese and Singaporean legislatures and China-Singapore relations.

Ambassador Cao pointed out that Speaker of the Parliament of Singapore Seah Kian Peng recently led a parliamentary delegation to visit China. The visit was successful and positive results were achieved. The National People’s Congress of China (NPC) and the Parliament of Singapore enjoy good cooperation. The Chinese Embassy stands ready to further facilitate such exchanges and cooperation, so as to contribute to the continued development of China-Singapore relations.

Deputy Speaker de Souza conveyed gratitude to the Chinese side for the hospitality accorded to Speaker Seah’s delegation. He noted that Singapore-China relationship is warm, strong and ever-evolving. The Parliament of Singapore is committed to developing warm ties with China and will continue to maintain the good momentum of exchanges and cooperation with the NPC.
