Chinese Embassy in Singapore Hosts Symposium of “Mutual Learning and Shared Beauty: Charting a New Era of China-Singapore Cultural Exchange”
On March 2, 2026, the Chinese Embassy in Singapore hosted a symposium titled “Mutual Learning and Shared Beauty: Charting a New Era of China-Singapore Cultural Exchange”. The event brought together nearly 30 guests from the cultural, artistic, and cultural industry sectors of both countries, including Chinese Ambassador to Singapore Cao Zhongming, CEO of National Heritage Board of Singapore Ms Chang Hwee Nee, and Deputy Secretary of the CPC Tsinghua University Committee Professor Guo Yong, for in-depth discussions.

In his keynote speech, Ambassador Cao stated that the Global Civilization Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping in March 2023 aims to promote exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations worldwide, jointly address global challenges, and build a community with a shared future for mankind. Guided by the Global Civilization Initiative, China-Singapore cultural exchanges are set to enter a phase of two-way engagement and deeper interaction. Looking ahead, the Embassy hopes to continue deepening cooperation with the cultural and artistic communities of both countries, jointly writing a new chapter of high-quality cultural exchanges.

Participants at the symposium engaged in discussions on topics such as Upholding and Inheriting Traditional Culture, Practice and Exploration of Culture and Arts, and Empowerment and Innovation in Cultural Industry.
