On the first day of the Year of the Horse, 17 February 2026, Ambassador Cao Zhongming and Madam Yang Qing attended the New Year gatherings hosted by Singapore-China Business Association, Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Business China, in celebration of the Spring Festival together with Singaporean government officials, business leaders, and friends from various sectors, exchanging festive greetings and good wishes. Minister Counselor Zhu Jing was also present.

In his address at the Singapore-China Business Association’s Spring Gathering, Ambassador Cao extended his sincere greetings and New Year wishes, and noted that 2026 marks the first year of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan, during which China will fully advance its modernization drive. He expressed his hope to work with Singaporean partners to explore the potential for cooperation, seize new opportunities, and jointly write a new and more brilliant chapter in China-Singapore relations.

Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry, Gan Kim Yong, delivered a speech at Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Senior Minister of State for the Ministry of Trade and Industry and Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, Low Yen Ling, addressed the event at the Singapore-China Business Association.
