On March 13, 2025, the Chinese Embassy in Singapore held the Work Conference on High-Quality Development of Chinese Enterprises in Singapore. Ambassador Cao Zhongming attended and addressed the conference. The persons in charge from over 100 key Chinese enterprises in Singapore and member companies of the Chinese Enterprise Association (Singapore) attended the conference. Minister Counselor Zong Changqing and Counselor Kang Yiming were present.

At the conference, the Embassy conveyed to Chinese enterprises in Singapore the core message and guiding principles of China's "two sessions" this year and the policy requirements for Chinese enterprises' overseas operation and briefed them the economic and trade cooperation between China and Singapore. The Singapore Branch of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) and the Singapore Branch of the China Communications Construction (CCCC) respectively shared their experiences of overseas operation. The Chinese Enterprise Association (Singapore) put forward an initiative to strengthen industry self-discipline.

In his speech, Ambassador Cao encouraged Chinese enterprises in Singapore to have an keen understanding of the core message and guiding principles of China's "two sessions", contribute to China's opening up and high-quality development, and take the opportunity of celebrating the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Singapore to enhance the quality and efficiency of bilateral economic and trade cooperation. He emphasized that Chinese enterprises must obey relevant laws and regulations in their operations and maintain the good image of Chinese enterprises. He called for them to strengthen industry self-discipline, prevent unhealthy competition, attach importance to production safety, and build a solid guardrail for development. He further encouraged the Chinese Enterprise Association (Singapore) to play a greater role in supporting the high-quality development of Chinese enterprises in Singapore.
