China and Singapore are friendly neighbors and important cooperative partners. Although the two countries established diplomatic relations only 30 plus years ago, the history of exchanges between the two sides can be traced back to centuries. Rooted in the profound historical and cultural origins and the time-honored people-to-people exchanges and cooperation between the two countries, and thanks to those who have contributed to the China-Singapore friendship from generation to generation, China-Singapore relations are flourishing and constantly climbing new heights. In 2023, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong jointly announced in Beijing the elevation of China-Singapore relations to an all-round high-quality future-oriented partnership, charting the course for the development of bilateral relations in the new era.

China and Singapore enjoy cultural similarities, shared philosophy, integrated interests and complementary advantages. Currently, China is advancing the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts through the Chinese path to modernization, while Singapore is also making long term blueprint, uniting its people to pave the way for future development. Standing at a new historical starting point, and guided by the new characterization of China-Singapore relations, my colleagues in the Embassy and I stand ready to work with Singaporean friends from all walks of life in joint efforts to strengthen strategic communication, expand concrete cooperation across the board and deepen people-to-people exchanges so as to bring China-Singapore relationship to a higher level! 

The Embassy will continue to serve as a window for the better understanding of China and China-Singapore relations, a bridge for closer friendship, exchange and cooperation between our two countries, and a platform for advancing common visions and shared interests between China and Singapore.
