On 30 May 2022, Her Excellency Sun Haiyan, Ambassador-designate of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Singapore, presented the copy of the Letter of Credence to Mr. Chia Wei Wen, Chief of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Singapore.

Ambassador Sun Haiyan thanked the Singaporean government for the facilitation accorded for her arrival and said she is honoured to serve as the Chinese Ambassador to Singapore. Ambassador Sun also emphasized that she is ready to work with the Singaporean colleagues to promote further growth of the friendly cooperation between the two countries.

Mr. Chia warmly welcomed Ambassador Sun on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore and believed that Ambassador Sun will commit to take bilateral relations to new heights during her tenure in Singapore. The Singaporean side will provide facilitation and assistance for Ambassador Sun to perform her duties.

Ambassador Sun Haiyan arrived in Singapore on 16 May 2022.
