Premier Li Keqiang Holds Group Meeting with Foreign Ministers of ASEAN Countries
Stressing to Forge Ahead along the Course of China-ASEAN Strategic Cooperation and to Promote Solidarity, Stability, Prosperity and Development in the Region

In the afternoon of Aug. 29, 2013, Premier Li Keqiang held a group meeting at the Great Hall of the People with the Foreign Ministers of the 10 ASEAN countries and ASEAN Secretary-General Le Luong Minh, who all came to China for the Special China-ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting.

Li Keqiang extended congratulations for the success of the Special China-ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting. Li Keqiang said that the development of China-ASEAN relations has strongly boosted regional stability and prosperity. China adheres to the path of peaceful development, adheres to giving the relations with ASEAN the priority for China's relations with neighbouring countries. China pursues the policy of good-neighbourly friendship, sticks to consolidating and deepening strategic partnership with ASEAN, supports the member countries to build ASEAN community, and China is glad to see ASEAN playing a leading role in regional cooperation. China adheres to the principles of mutual respect, of enhancing trust and clarifying doubts, to well manage the differences with relevant ASEAN countries through friendly consultations, to realize the long-term friendly development of bilateral relations and to achieve mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.

Li Keqiang pointed out that, the global economy is now in a complex situation for recovery, emerging market countries are also facing some new challenges. For the region, our primary task is to develop the economy and to improve people's livelihood. China is willing to maintain close communication with ASEAN countries, to forge ahead along the course of strategic cooperation, to uplift the level of trade, investment and financial cooperation, to promote connectivity, maritime cooperation and people-to-people and cultural exchanges, to accelerate the regional integration process, to help each other, to focus on the development, to join hands coping with various challenges, so as to jointly promote solidarity, stability, prosperity and development of the region.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul of Thailand and Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Brunei Darussalam, on behalf of the ASEAN Foreign Ministers, expressed that over the 10 years since the establishment of China-ASEAN strategic partnership, both sides have trusted and supported each other, carried out wide range of friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation at various levels. It has contributed to regional stability, development and prosperity. China's development brings opportunities for the neighbouring countries. ASEAN is willing to join hands with China to strengthen communication and coordination, to innovate the mode of cooperation, to further expand exchanges and cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, people-to-people and cultural exchanges, non-traditional security and maritime issues, to well manage differences, to ensure the full success of the ASEAN-China Summit scheduled within the year, in order to unceasingly inject fresh strong impetus into ASEAN-China strategic partnership.
