Ambassador Cao Zhongming Attends the “Conversation and Connection” Themed Concert

On the evening of June 10, the “Conversation and Connection” Concert celebrating the International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations was held at the China Cultural Centre in Singapore. A video address by Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi at the event to celebrate the first International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations of the United Nations was screened. Ambassador Cao Zhongming attended the concert and enjoyed the music and dance performance presented by the Shenyang Conservatory of Music and Dance Ensemble Singapore with about 200 guests from various sectors of Singapore.

In his speech, Ambassador Cao noted that the establishment of the International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations aims to promote tolerance, coexistence, exchanges and mutual learning among different civilizations. It is an innovative practice of the Global Civilization Initiative and building a community with a shared future for mankind. Ever since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Singapore 35 years ago, the peoples of the two countries have consistently upheld mutual respect, equality in dialogue, and mutual learning, which has yielded fruitful outcomes. During this process, the China Cultural Centre has actively played to role to bridge and link the two peoples. It is hoped that artists from both countries will continue to deepen exchanges and dialogue, inspire each other in innovation, so as to renew the wonderful story of the people-to-people exchanges.

The “Conversation and Connection” Concert was organized by the China International Culture Association and hosted by the China Cultural Centre in Singapore.
